About GreenSkies

GreenSkies is an initiative by Aviation/Aerospace Australia to promote action on sustainability in the aviation, aerospace, and space sectors in Australia. GreenSkies aims to bring together leading organisations to facilitate solution-focused discussions, collaborations, projects, events, and networking opportunities.

Renewable, Sustainable, and Future are the guiding principles for this initiative.

Renewable will identify and develop ideas and industry practices around Sustainable Airline Fuels, low-carbon emissions technology, and alternative propulsion.

Sustainable will focus on local sustainability issues such as waste management, noise pollution, water quality at airports and the impact on surrounding communities.

Future projects, events and industry discussions will focus on how developing technologies (e.g., UAV, AR, VR, AI), supply chain resilience, and operations efficiency, are contributing to business profitability post-COVID

To help structure this initiative, relevant key issues identified by A/AA GreenSkies Committee will be used to create a calendar of events. These events will be designed to help Australian institutions, corporate partners, and SMEs within A/AA to create a network for individuals and organisations, connecting with industry peers, inspiring future generations to join the industry, and promoting sustainability in all facets of their careers.

A/AA is proud to have taken a leading role in celebrating and promoting sustainability across far-reaching capabilities and the GreenSkies initiative is designed to help industry work together for a more sustainable future.
