Breaking Glass
Breaking the Glass Ceiling is a film that pays tribute to the real stories of female pioneers who defied the status quo and fought to become the first generation of female airline pilots. Sponsored in Australia by A/AA, RMIT, CAE, and ISA21, the film has been directed and produced by Nicolas Bori and Konrad Steuer of Filmakademie Baden-Wuettemberg.
RMIT launched the trailer for this film at the Avalon Airshow 2023 and those in attendance who saw the documentary can speak to the powerful and unforgettable stories shared by airline pilots Larissa Vculek, Bonnie Tiburzi, the first female pilot for American Airlines, Turi Wideroe, the world’s first female commercial airline pilot for a major airline, Natasha Nesemann, the youngest First Officer on Boeing 787 in North America, and Mary Shipko, one of the first female pilots in the United States.
