This International Women's Day we celebrate Women in A/AA's 10 year anniversary!

Join Women in A/AA for breakfast at Airbus in Brisbane on 7 March as we listen to a panel of diverse speakers discuss their experiences throughout their exceptional careers, the progress made over the last 10 years, and the work still to come.

To mark 2023's IWD theme #embraceequity, we invite all genders to hear from prominent change-makers who are looking to make meaningful impact for women across the sector.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

/ Professor Rosalind Archer | Head of School, School of Engineering and Built Environment at Griffith University

As a Professor at Griffith University Rosalind leads a School over 90 core academic staff spanning engineering, architecture, urban planning, construction management and aviation.  Her professional background is as engineer focused on energy and she still loves to teach a small block of first year engineering lectures every year.  She recently served as President of Engineering New Zealand.

She wants to see the workforce in STEM based industries reflecting the societies they serve - and has supported a wide range of initiatives addressing diversity and inclusion in terms of gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation.

/ Kathleen Boseley | Manager Engineering Capability and Innovation at Airbus Group Australia Pacific

Kathleen Boseley has over two decades experience at five large international aerospace companies in three countries with predominantly engineering lead, quality, technical engineering management, and project management roles spanning all phases of aircraft and avionics lifecycles. 

With this background she brings a unique perspective to the IWD event in Brisbane. She has presented papers at various Navigation conferences in the USA and was named one of the 50 leaders to watch by the magazine GPS World in 2008. Recipient of the Outstanding Performance in Engineering and Technology award - Aviation/Aerospace Australia -2014, and a Finalist in both the Defence Connect Awards and Aviation Australia for Female Leader of the Year 2021. 

She has served as Deputy Chief Engineer on the MRH 90 helicopter and as the Head of Independent System Monitoring and Manager of Engineering services for Airbus on all platforms. Currently she is the Manager of Engineering Capability and Innovation across all platforms for Airbus in Australia Pacific. 

A Fellow of Engineers Australia she sits on the Women in Aviation Aerospace Australia committee, and the QUT, Monash Academic and RMIT Advisory Boards. Passionate about Inclusion and Diversity she fundraises for Muscular Dystrophy QLD and tries to balance work with going to the beach, catching up with friends and being a Mum to her two boys.

/ Linda-Patrice Celestino | General Manager InFlight Experience at Virgin Australia

Linda Celestino is the General Manager of Inflight Experience at Virgin Australia.

Linda started her career at Ansett Australia and later moved to the Middle East, where she held senior positions at Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Gulf Air, and Oman Air. Prior joining Virgin Australia in late 2022, she held the role of Vice President Guest Service & Delivery at Etihad Airways, overseeing the selection and training of 17,000 cabin crew, product and service development and design, and the overall end-to-end guest experience.

As the President of the Board at New York-based Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), Linda played an important role in setting new standards of guest experience and service on an international level.

With more than 35 years’ industry experience leading product, operations, catering, training, service delivery and cabin crew, Linda is a highly experienced and respected aviation professional.

/ Ruth Harrison | Talent Acquisition Specialist at QinetiQ Australia

Ruth Harrison is Rocket Woman!

She is a talent acquisition & recruitment professional with a bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and a masters in Space Operations. A passionate Women in STEM and diversity advocate, she enjoys all things aviation, aerospace and space. As well as working as a talent acquisition specialist at QinetiQ Australia, she is also a student pilot and writer of stories about the Australian space industry for SpaceAustralia.com.

As an enthusiastic supporter of community, she is also a committee member of the Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia QLD and Diversity Practitioners Association and is the co-chair of the Queensland Women in Aviation Australia subcommittee.
