Lea Vesic

Director

Lea is a commercial, multi engine Command Instrument Rated pilot, and has worked in the public and private sectors, internationally and in Australia. Her experience across the aviation sector covers many disciplines, having worked in flight operations, business development and sales, aviation training, policy development and strategic management. Most recently, Lea was appointed Senior Aviation and Maritime Advisor for the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon Michael McCormack, providing advice and oversight of policy and regulatory design and implementation, particularly in the context of the Federal COVID-19 pandemic response. 

Lea is the Director Aviation Academy at RMIT University and holds a Diploma of Flight Operations, a Commercial Pilot’s License and Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating. As well as certificates in Lead Auditing, Risk Management and currently undertaking a CASA Flight Instructor Rating.

Lea has guest lectured at the University of New South Wales, is the former Secretariat for TAAAF (The Australian Aviation Associations Forum), the first female chair of Royal Aeronautical Society Canberra branch and a past-president of the Women in Aviation, International (WAI) Australian chapter.
