Impact of COVID-19 on Diversity

You're invited to a virtual panel discussion hosted by our Women in A/AA Queensland Committee on Thursday the 12 November at 6:30pm AEDT (NSW/VIC). 

The impacts of COVID-19 continue to be felt far and wide. There are many different dimensions of the impact of COVID-19 on diversity, as organisations and people rapidly adapt business models and the way we live.  

Our panel of industry leaders will discuss the impact and opportunities of COVID-19 on diversity in relation to the Australian Aviation/Aerospace industry.

/ Rowan Arndt | Global Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Leader, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific (ANZSP) & Asia (APAC) at Boeing Australia 

Rowan is the Global Equity Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Leader APAC.  In a career spanning 30 years, roles have included; Senior Leadership roles in Banking and Finance across multiple market segments and Head of Diversity and Inclusion in ASX listed companies. Rowan is a member of the National Diversity and Inclusion Council for the American Chamber of Commerce and a regular presenter and panelist on the subject of Diversity and Inclusion. Additional commitment to inclusion and leadership extends to work in the community across additional needs and disadvantaged youth.

Bree Zannes | Manager Airframe Equipment & Integration, Design Engineering at Airbus Australia Pacific 

Bree Zannes is the Manager for the Design Engineering Airframe Equipment and Integration function at Airbus Australia Pacific responsible for leading a team of 25+ engineers. With a career spaning over 15 years in aviation she has worked on the A380, Caribou, ARH and MRH90 for commercial and defence customers.

Michael Hansen | Deputy Chair at the QLD Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society 
Michael has 30 years’ experience working in the Defence Sector. During that time he has held a variety of leadership and technical roles within Army, CASG and most recently in Defence Industry with Boeing Defence Australia. Work highlights include aircraft fleet modification program management, technical liaison, project management and aircraft fleet sustainment. He holds a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering, a Master of Project Management and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Project Professional, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers and a Member of both the Australian Institute of Project Management and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He is also currently the Deputy Chair of the Queensland Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
