The 2nd annual ACT Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia Summit will take place on 15 August 2018 at the Canberra National Convention Centre, bringing together public, private, civil and defence sectors to move the needle on gender diversity. These summits are designed to facilitate change in our industry to a more diverse and gender inclusive workforce. In order to achieve this shift, senior executives and change makers are encouraged to attend.

The only female Australian pilot to fly for Commando Helicopter Force
Kate Munari / Transport Safety Investigator, Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB),
Former Royal Australian Navy Helicopter Pilot
Kate joined the Royal Australian Navy at the age of 18, while completing a Bachelor of Science degree. Qualifying as a helicopter pilot in 2006, she was selected for a four and a half year posting to the Royal Navy, UK. There Kate flew as pat of Commando Helicopter Force, CHF, who fly in support of the Royal Marine Commandos. Serving in Afghanistan three times as part of CHF, as an aircraft captain and formation commander. Kate was chosen to be the Officer in Charge of the Royal Australian Navy's vessel which escorted the Royal Barge. In 2011 she was presented with the British Afghanistant Campaign Medal by Prince Charles. After working as an Operations officer at 808 Squadron, flying MRH90 helicopter at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, Kate is now a Transport Safety Inspector for the Australian Safety Bureau.
