Angela Gittens
Director General, ACI World

Angela Gittens began her tenure as Director General of Airports Council International (ACI World) in 2008. She was formerly airport CEO for Miami and Atlanta and Deputy at San Francisco International Airport. In other previous roles, Gittens served as Vice-President, Airport Business Services for HNTB Corporation where she led the firms practice in airport business and strategic planning. And as Vice-President at TBI Airport Management, she oversaw the transition to private ownership of London Luton Airport and managed operations contracts at several airports in the US and Canada. Gittens is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and has served on numerous aviation industry boards and committees including the FAA Management Advisory Committee, the FAA Research, Engineering and Development Committee, the National Civil Aviation Review Commission ("the Moneta Commission"), the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board, the Airport Cooperative Research Program Oversight Committee and the Board of Directors of JetBlue Airways.

 

Paul Steele
Senior Vice President, Member & External Relations and Corporate Secretary 
International Air Transport Association 

Paul Steele is Senior Vice President of Member and External Relations, and Corporate Secretary of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). He is responsible for guiding and implementing IATA's strategic advocacy and stakeholder relationship activities worldwide.
Paul served as the Executive Director of the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG), a cross-industry body that promotes sustainable aviation, from 2008 to 2014. He currently serves as a member of the ATAG Board of Directors.

Prior to joining IATA in December 2007, Paul was Chief Operating Officer of WWF International. Before WWF, Paul had over 20 years' senior management experience with major international companies. His roles include Chief Executive of The Virgin Trading Company, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Information Technology of the Hilton Hotel Group, covering 150 hotels in 50 countries and overseeing a sales and marketing team of 1,000 people; and various senior roles at Pepsi Cola International, lastly serving as Group Vice President in charge of Northern Europe. 
He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with French and a Diploma in Industrial Studies from Loughborough University and is a former faculty member of the Prince of Wale's Business and the Environment Programme run by Cambridge University. 

 

Allison Spicer 
Manager CAMO Services (CASR P42 CAM), QantasLink

Allison has a passion for aviation, engineering, business operations, and collective leadership. She has spent the last 10 years working for Qantas Airways, and prior at Virgin Blue as a technical service engineer. Roles have spanned a board cross section of airline engineering and maintenance activity including airworthiness control, customer account management, strategy and business planning, maintenance planning, business and operational analytics, technical services and reliability engineering.

Allison has played a key role in business transformation activities in both QantasLink and Qantas Engineering, in the analysis and development of strategies to address changes in maintenance demand. In addition, she has worked on several initiatives to leverage the combined engineering and maintenance knowledge base of one world member airlines. More recently she has driven significant business process, governance, and compliance initiatives within the QantasLink CAMO to deliver improved data quality, decision, and operational performance. 

Allison is recognised for her strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills. She has proven to be effective in assessing business and operational challenges, and in providing leadership to address. Allison has formal qualifications in both Engineering (Aeronautical) and Commerce. Prior to joining the aviation industry, she worked across various industries whilst pursuing study and a Private Pilot's licence.
