Altitude 2018 - Creating a Sustainable Future for the Australian Aviation/Aerospace Industry

Fri 23 Nov 2018 (5:00 pm - 7:30 pm)
Green Brain Conference Room
RMIT University, Level 7, Building 16, 342 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

Aviation/Aerospace Australia would like to introduce you to Altitude; a unique and innovative event where Australia’s future strategic leaders will share their ideas on shaping the future of the aviation and aerospace industry sectors.

Since its launch in 2010, Aviation/Aerospace Australia (A/AA) has developed and successfully delivered many important initiatives and programs for the Aviation and Aerospace sectors in Australia. Supported by industry and government, the organisation has generated widespread national interest, and established a significant network of global relationships and formal domestic and international partnerships. These include a range of new programs focused on developing our future industry leaders through the A/AA NextGenNetwork initiative. The Altitude event is one of those programs.

Picture a fast-paced late afternoon of 7 six-minute idea pitches by the brightest future aviation/aerospace leaders in Australia, a keynote presentation from Michelle Gee, Professor of Aerospace Engineering at RMIT and Director at Sir Lawrence Wackett Centre: Air, Space, Land Sea, followed by a dynamic post-event networking experience. Expect to engage with a high-level audience of leaders, policy-makers, and the broader aviation/aerospace community in a forum that is focused on the future, by future leaders.

And don’t expect a usual conference presentation – presentations will be dynamic, rapid, to-the-point, and hard-hitting.

WHAT KIND OF TOPICS CAN I SPEAK ON?

The theme this year is Creating a Sustainable Future for the Australian Aviation/Aerospace Industry and we want to hear your ideas about what this looks like, and how we achieve it.

Apart from that, the topic is up to you!

But remember – talks need to be strategic in nature, succinct, edgy, and direct. We’re looking for talks that are future-focused, big-picture orientated, convey a sense of leadership and proactivity, and inspire action.

Data dumps, hand-waving, and slide-reading-style presentations will experience a rejected take-off in the selection process.

A focus on just the aviation sector or aerospace sector is welcome – just make sure you make it clear in your application.
