Marija “Maz” Jovanovich AM CSM is a military test pilot and the most senior female pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force. She has over 25 years of experience in the RAAF, including operational flying, flight test, leadership and command at multiple levels, and strategic centre roles. In 2014, Maz was the first Australian in 25 years to graduate from the United States Air Force Test Pilot School. In 2019, she was awarded a Conspicuous Service Medal for achievements during deployed command. In 2025, she was invested as a Member of the Order of Australia. Maz has 3500 flying hours on over 30 different aircraft types. Her formal qualifications include a B.Sc with Honours and a University Medal in Physics, a Masters of Systems Engineering, a Masters of Science in Flight Test Engineering, a Masters of Strategic Studies, and a Masters of National Security and Strategy.
