Reaching Higher Online Mentor Matching Program for High Potential Professionals and Students in Aviation, Aerospace and Space
A virtual online mentoring program with monthly video calls and interactions to remain connected to industry and allow continuing professional development which offers benefits such as;
• Enabling knowledge sharing and career development
• Increased leadership capacity
• Positively impacted financial performance (as a result of the above)
Mentors will
• Guide and facilitate the individual towards the achievement of mutually agreed outcomes
• Act as an independent, confidential sounding board and provide a ‘second opinion’ when discussing issues and solutions
• Provide motivation and encouragement regarding overcoming challenges and the attainment of goals
• Assist in developing insight into potential barriers to development
• Challenge the individual where appropriate regarding assumptions, unrealistic and unconstructive thought and/or behaviour patterns
Two streams are available
WOMEN IN A/AA
• Aimed at women in the aviation and aerospace industry looking for growth and guidance to achieve leadership opportunities in the future;
/ Mentee’s should have at least 3 years of industry experience
/ Mentors should have at least 10 years of industry experience (can be male or female)
NEXTGENNETWORK
• Aimed at women and men in the aviation and aerospace industry look for growth and guidance to achieve leadership opportunities in the future;
/ Mentee’s should have approximately 3 years of study (can be male or female)
/ Mentors should have at least 5 years of industry experience (can be male or female)

Timelines
/ Participants must apply and complete the online survey by 31 October 2020
/ Participants need to be available to participate in the program remotely from November 2020 – through until April 2021
/ Matching will be co-ordinated by industry professionals
/ The program offers cross pollination between companies and skills to allow advancement in personal skills and gain greater industry awareness and new perspectives
/ Mentor and mentee participation is open to A/AA Corporate Member employees and individual Women in A/AA or NextGenNetwork members/ Introductory briefing provided
/ Option for companies to provide a mentee and a mentor to be matched with others
/ Offered Nationally/ Terms of Reference is provided
/ Limited cohort with 10 pairs in each stream
/ Commencing November 2020 – Completion April 2021
