/ Anita Vuckovic | Innovation Manager, AMS Melbourne at Thales Australia

Anita is the current Innovation Manager for the Air Mobility Solutions business in Thales Australia, Melbourne. She has 10 years' experience working in the aviation industry.

She started her professional career as a human factors scientist at Defence Science and Technology Organisation, working on replacing military surveillance aircraft with manned and unmanned aircraft. When the opportunity came to join Thales, Anita gladly joined, as a human factors manager on the OneSky program.

Working with customers and ex-air traffic controllers was fun, but it became more and more important to not only advocate for the end user, but to try to influence the design directly for the benefit of the industry beyond just OneSky.

She therefore switched into the engineering world, working with human-machine interface engineers and software designers, and colleagues working on the long-term Thales ATM product. Today, we find her in innovation, where she is working with global teams in helping to drive the vision and design of the future air traffic management solutions.

Anita has a bachelor in Psychological Science, and a joint Masters and PhD in Organisational Psychology from UQ. She is passionate about the domain, kids in STEM, diverse backgrounds and non-traditional entry pathways, and working with clever people in industry to advance the future of ATM.
