Biography

Andrew joined BAA as a graduate engineer in 2007 at the start of the 787 program as a manufacturing engineer, tasked with production hardening of the resin infusion process for the moveable trailing edges. He worked on material waste reduction initiatives for dry carbon fabric and resin and moved into the Materials and Process Technology (M&PT) team to work on process improvements for defect and cost reduction. In 2012 Andrew was appointed as the manager of the M&PT production support team. Following that experience, he led the bid and proposals team and Production Support Engineering leader for 787 moveable trailing edge assembly. Upon BAA being awarded the 737 MAX winglet, Andrew led the Production Engineering team for the tooling design and acquisition, pre-production activities and part qualifications. Following this, Andrew was Engineering Leader for the 737 Rudder redesign and work transfer, which introduced full-size determinant assembly (FSDA), reduced shimming, one-up assembly and drill-and-fill automation to this product. In 2021, Andrew moved to the MQ-28 program as the Production Engineering leader, overseeing the delivery of multiple aircraft. Following his time on the MQ-28 program, Andrew was a senior IPT leader tasked with planning a facility expansion project for the MQ-28 program.
