Reaching Higher - Mentoring Program for Women in Aviation and Aerospace Australia
A structured program with a series of workshops/interactions, initial training, ongoing guidance and supports which offers benefits such as:
- Improving employee engagement and retention
- Enabling knowledge sharing and career development
- Increased leadership capacity
- Positively impacting financial performance (as a result of the above)
Formal mentoring programs are proven to have greater results than those that are informal or un-structured and will present a professional and support approach by A/AA.
Timelines
- Participants must apply and complete the survey by 31 July (Mentees must pay a deposit of $250 by 31 July).
- Participants need to be available to travel to Melbourne at own cost in September.
- Participants need to be available to participate in the program remoting and in person from September through until March 2019.
Mentors will:
- Guide and facilitate the individual towards the achievement of mutually agreed outcomes;
- Act as an independent, confidential sounding board and provide a 'second opinion' when discussing issues and solutions;
- Provide motivation and encouragement regarding overcoming challenges and the attainment goals;
- Assist in developing insight into potential barriers to development; and
- Challenge the individual where appropriate regarding assumptions, unrealistic and unconstructive though and/or behaviour patterns.
