The Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia (W/AA) Adelaide Summit brought together professionals from across the aviation, aerospace, defence and space sectors to explore how organisations can move beyond commitments to diversity and inclusion and translate words into meaningful action.

Held under the theme “From Runway to Boardroom: Women Shaping the Industry,” the Summit featured an impressive line-up of industry and government leaders, with discussions spanning leadership, board pathways, technology careers, workplace culture and the factors that influence whether women choose to stay and progress in the sector.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. The Summit achieved an average overall rating of 4.2 out of 5, with 76% of respondents identifying inspiration and empowerment as their primary motivation for attending, followed by knowledge and skills development (64%) and networking (56%).

The diversity of the program was also a clear strength, with 95% of respondents saying the diversity of speakers was right, reinforcing the importance of showcasing a broad range of women and leaders across the industry.

More than simply a day of discussion, the Adelaide Summit created an opportunity for genuine connection, learning and reflection, while highlighting the practical steps organisations can take to build more inclusive workplaces and stronger pathways for women across the sector.

A/AA is proud to continue providing a national platform through W/AA for women to connect with industry peers, inspire future generations and progress their careers across aviation, aerospace, defence and space.
