New GreenSkies Chair

Media Release / 17 February

Aviation/Aerospace Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kimberly Camrass as the new Chair of GreenSkies, the organisation’s flagship sustainability initiative focused on advancing environmental action across the aviation, aerospace, and space sectors.

Dr Camrass currently serves as Head of Sustainability – Asia Pacific and India at Boeing, where she leads regional aviation decarbonisation efforts, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) advocacy, policy development, cross-sectoral partnerships, and strategic thought leadership. Her appointment signals a strengthened commitment to accelerating sustainability outcomes across Australia’s high-technology flight and space industries.

As Chair of GreenSkies, Dr Camrass will work closely with industry, government, and education stakeholders to promote practical and collaborative action on sustainability, supporting the transition to lower-emissions aviation and fostering innovation across aerospace and space ecosystems.

“Australia has a unique opportunity to lead in sustainable aviation and aerospace innovation,” said Dr Camrass. “Through GreenSkies, we can bring together industry, policymakers, and emerging talent to drive meaningful progress on decarbonisation, sustainable fuels, and next-generation technologies that will shape the future of flight.”

Kristen Raby, Chair at Aviation/Aerospace Australia, welcomed the appointment, noting Dr Camrass’ deep expertise and regional leadership in sustainability. “Dr Camrass brings an exceptional track record in aviation decarbonisation and international collaboration. Her leadership will strengthen GreenSkies as a national platform for sustainability action, helping align Australia’s aviation, aerospace, and space sectors with global climate goals while supporting innovation, workforce development, and long-term competitiveness.”

GreenSkies, an initiative of Aviation/Aerospace Australia, is dedicated to advancing sustainable practices, policy dialogue, and industry collaboration to support the transition to a more sustainable aviation and aerospace future. The initiative engages industry leaders, researchers, educators, and young professionals to accelerate solutions across sustainable aviation fuel, emissions reduction, and environmentally responsible technologies.

Dr Camrass’ appointment comes at a critical time for the sector, as global momentum builds toward net zero aviation and increased investment in sustainable aviation fuel, clean technologies, and cross-sector innovation.
