Space Mission 2040: 2022 Winners Announced
Congratulations to Torrens Valley Christian School on winning the WA/AA Space Mission 2040: School Competition! Check out the amazing Grade 2 students and some of their awesome rockets.
As part of this competition, students were challenged to form diverse teams of three to create their own spacecraft to rescue their friend's family from Venus! During the term lesson packs were provided, including paper plane kits, Storytime from Space, the Four Forces of Flight 10-minute webinar delivered by Stephanie McCulloch, a graduate Aerospace Engineer from RMIT University, and a Space Careers video. Schools across Australia were invited to take part in this mission with teams challenged to use these resources to create their mission ships!
The Space Mission 2040: Grade 2 Competition is proudly facilitated by Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia and supported by the Australian Space Agency. Through Space Mission 2040 competition for Grade 2 students, WA/AA and the Australian Space Agency is reaching the next generation of aviation, aerospace, and space professionals. Aviation/Aerospace Australia is pleased to offer activities to primary school students to support the future pipeline of talent for the whole industry.
