“HOSS” BECKMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Congratulations to Cindy Jarvis, Aerospace Tradesperson at Boeing Aerostructures Australia.

Cindy was selected by Trish Beckman to receive the 'Hoss Beckman Memorial Scholarship' to attend the Women in Aviation International Conference in Nashville Tennessee, 10-12 March 2016, including flights and accommodation.

Cindy is currently working and undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) at university, both full time, working towards an engineering role at Boeing.

The spirit of the award was Trish's inspiration by her father to follow her aviation dreams and Cindy was highly inspired by her late mother, a strong and very independent woman who encouraged Cindy to work hard to achieve her goals.

'I look forward to listening to other women that have achieved their dreams, to help me discover ways to navigate challenges and return with a clearer and more focused path with which to pursue my dreams', said Jarvis.

Cindy is a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and has worked on c-130H and c-130 J Hercules, Boeing 777, P3 Orion and is now assembling the aileron for the Boeing 737.

Aviation/Aerospace Australia is pleased to recognised a female aircraft maintenance engineer and welcomes Cindy to share her US experience on stage at the AIRSPACE awards on the evening of 14 April.
