Australian Aerospace Industry Capability Directory

As part of its “Aerospace Manufacturing Support Program”, A/AA has been working with industry for the past 12 months to grow the aerospace manufacturing sector in Australia, taking advantage of the significant opportunities in the global supply chain.

Key achievements of the program to date include, the compilation of the “Australian Aerospace Capability Directory” (in collaboration with Austrade), and the delivery of an “Aerospace Manufacturing Productivity Program” (in conjunction with the Victorian Government).

A new initiative within this broader program - the “Auto to Aerospace Jobs Strategy”, has recently been established to work with industry and government stakeholders, to develop opportunities for auto industry workers to transition into the aerospace manufacturing sector in Australia.

Building on its initial work documenting Australia’s capabilities in this sector, A/AA will leverage its relationships with some of its key stakeholders and partners, including Austrade and Manufacturing Skills Australia, to support the increased participation of Australian companies in the global supply chain (both civil and defence), and to ensure that the workforce has the required skills and experience.

A/AA is currently convening an industry-led “Aerospace Manufacturing Leaders Group” to assist in identifying the sector’s needs and provide strategic input into the “Aerospace Manufacturing Support Program” strategy.
