ACCESS GLOBAL AEROSPACE SUPPLY CHAINS FROM POLAND’S AVIATION VALLEY

On 14 April, A/AA Board Memher, Julian Fraser signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with Mr Andrzej Rybka, Managing Director of Aviation Valley. Mr Rybka presented to companies in Melbourne and Sydney on the benefits and opportunities that the Polish aviation and aerospace industry has to offer.

The Polish aerospace industry is playing an increasingly important role in the global aviation supply chain. Many major international players like Pratt & Whitney, Safran, Sikorsky and Goodrich Aerospace are now located in Poland as they recognise the significant role Poland plays in this sector. According to a recent report by PWC and The Manufacturing Institute in the United States, Poland is now ranked 8th for aviation manufacturing which is ahead of France.

To leverage on aerospace opportunities that exist in Poland and Central Europe, Austrade in partnership with Aviation/Aerospace Australia (A/AA) and the Polish Aviation Valley are organising an Australian aerospace mission to Poland from 21-23 July 2014.

This is a unique opportunity to promote Australian capabilities in aerospace and facilitate commercial contacts. The three day program provides significant business matching opportunities with prime contractors and tier one suppliers and will involve a number of factory visits.
