A/AA promotes growth in aviation and aerospace through innovation, partnerships and diversity. 

A/AA is seeking a part-time CEO to lead the next phase of our development. This role is suited to an individual who is passionate about the sector and relishes the opportunity to ‘give back’ to the industry. You will be an experienced and respected member of the aviation or aerospace industry. You will have had a rich career and possess an enviable network of relationships within the sector, in high-profile organisations and government.

As a professional not-for-profit membership organisation, A/AA represents companies including Boeing Australia, Virgin Australia, Qantas Airways, the Royal Australian Air Force, 

Thales Air Traffic Management, BAE Systems, Universities, Flight Training Schools, Manufacturers, Airports, SME’s and sole traders.

Our two flagship programs are the Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia initiative focused on gender diversity and inclusion and the NextGenNetwork initiative seeking to prepare and support the next generation of aviation and aerospace for students and graduates to be valuable contributors to our industry. 

Established seven years ago, the association is taking the next step in its growth journey and is pursuing a thought leadership agenda focused on the long-term health and sustainability of the Australian sector. 

Essential requirements and responsibilities 

• Build an engagement strategy from SME – Top Tier 

• Be the face of the association at events and meetings 

• Government relations 

• Grow association internationally 

• Promote the Australian Aviation and Aerospace Industry through trade and leverage strategic relationship to support the Australian industry onshore 

• Represent the association via media and PR opportunities 

• Build membership base and generate new income streams 

• Account management of large key members and stakeholders 

• Strategic oversight on new projects
