2013 A/AA HELICOPTER TRADE MISSION – CHINA

Incorporating China Helicopter Exposition

Tianjin, September 5-8, 2013

China is a helicopter market primed for explosive growth due to the opening up of the low-level airspace, beginning in 2011. With a mere 375 helicopters in China at the end of 2012 (versus 2,000 in Australia and 800 in NZ), it is clear where the industry is heading and there are estimates of 2,000+ helicopters by 2020. China needs helicopters, along with instructors, pilots and operational expertise and there is no reason why Australian companies cannot win their share of this market. However this is easier said than done which is why the A/AA is taking the initiative and providing a platform at this Expo.

As part of its international engagement program, Aviation/Aerospace Australia (A/AA) is leading a helicopter sector trade mission to China and will host an Australian stand at the China Helicopter Exposition in Tianjin, 5-8 September 2013.

The objective of the mission is to showcase Australian helicopter industry capability and we want to encourage a limited number of qualified companies to join us and use the Aviation/Aerospace Australia stand as a base to represent themselves at the only dedicated helicopter event in China. In addition to the expo stand, the mission will also include meetings with relevant authorities (that would normally be inaccessible to private companies), and will host a reception, all of which attendees will be encouraged to participate in.
